Hi,
I have 2002 the fuel gage reads empty and low fuel light is on. The dealer replaced both sending units and the gage worked for 30 miles. Any suggestions?
I'm sure you can find several posts addressing this issue. One of the solutions was to run at least one bottle of Fuel System Cleaner in one tank of gas. You may have to gauge your remaining gas by your mileage.
Unlikely to be contamination in so short of time, so I would not expect Techron to help.
Most likely to be wiring/connections or a sensor bad out of the box.
The gauge will go to zero if the PCM senses fuel not transferring from right tank to left tank. Usually a clogged jet pump. Takes quite a few miles if starting from full. What was the fuel level?
Maybe also a sensor float hung up. Don't know.
If it was me, my first step would be to fill it full and see what it does after driving a while.

Thank you! It was a half tank when I picked it up, working fine. 30 miles later gage went to empty and low fuel light on. I did fill it up this weekend and still not working. That's first I heard about the transfer pump possible problem.
