Default DRL Won't turn off.

Noticed the other day that one DRL looked to be burned out. Wanted to turn them off via the DIC but couldn't. Jump forward a week or so and magically both DRL are working fine. I tried again to turn them off via the DIC and they still will not turn off. Also noticed that the lights and horn won't function when I use the key fob. Tried switching them off and on in the DIC but no change.

Anyone know which module to look at? Curious as to where to start my troubleshooting....

Thanks

You can't turn the DRLs off via the DIC. You probably have a burnt socket that is causing the DRL to work intermittently. It is very common for the DRL sockets to burn and the side marker housing to melt from the heat of the DRLs.
The horn chirp from the FOB is controlled by a different relay than what the steering wheel uses. That relay may be bad???

You need to pull fuse A-2 (Fuse 2) from the underhood box to disable the DRL. Note, you will get some codes in the DIC.

This is the thread I used to get more info about it before I pulled my fuse. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-drl-fuse.html

Information I have about the C5 says if you pull your e-brake one click, the DRLs will go off.

I too may pull the fuse, so the codes just show up in the DIC when U run diagnostics and no bells or lights, correct? Thanks

That is correct. You only get the codes when you do the diagnostic run through. You get no lights or errors on the dash. I think you also lose the ability to flash the lights when you lock or unlock the car with the key fob. Not sure on that one since I had already turned off the flashing function through the DIC before pulling the fuse.
