I noticed a tick sound as I was driving today. The tick goes faster and slows with the speed of the car....
I don't have a lift so can't get under it and look....i'm going to find a corvette shop and have them take a look.
Wife says it sounds like I have a clothes pin and a card under it.
Anyone else ever hear this on their car?
If you truly narrowed it down to the rear, could be a nail or small metal object stuck on the tire making a ticking noise...
Other common ticks:
-Manifold/Headers bolt is loose.
-pushrods
-rocker arms
-type of oil or condition of oil causing noise in the valve-train
-exhaust leak
-gremlins made a home in your car making ticking noises
Also, try determining if the sound of the tick changes when you are out of gear. For example, when the tick happens as you are cruising at a constant speed, try shifting the car to neutral and let it roll at speed. Listen for any changes in the tick. This will help figure out if it is load based or not.

Had the same type of noise and found a nail stuck in the fat part of the tread. Luckily, not long enough to puncture into the inner tire.
Sorry for going awol on this thread...My 90y/o father has been in the hospital so I've been busy with him and my mother.....
i had a mechanic listen...he believes it is a stuck slide on my brake...he said it goes away when I press on brake pedal.....
we're going to replace the rotors and brake pads (i was going to anyways).....I'll post the results and go from there
