I’m having an issue after a catch can install. The catch can filled up very fast. I went about 5 miles in the car to get gas. The Mighty Mouse catch can filled up before I got home. The car was smoking from burning oil. I pulled the car in the garage and checked the catch can and it was full.
2003 C5Z 402 stroker, V3/TI
Driver side routing goes from valve cover to the the air filter on Supercharger:
Passenger side: Valve cover to catch can. Catch can to intake. I have capped the valley cover off.
Did I route something wrong? Why is the catch can filling up so fast. I have never had issues with blow by. The car worked great with the A&A routing.
@David@MMS Could you help this guy out. Looks like he’s in a pickle. Thanks! You guys helped me out in the past. I know your customer service is top notch.

Is there a check valve in the CC (catch can) so when in boost you arent pushing air backwards into the CC? Like a PCV valve?
Is the CC filled with oil and noting else?

The MM CC have a check valve built into them from what I have read.
There was just oil in the catch can.
Pull the hose from the can that goes to valve cover, leave it hanging in a safe place take the car for a ride and see if oil is coming out of hose. That is a lot of oil. To Get that much oil in that short of a period would need a lot of psi and vacuum to suck that much oil from engine. Just a though.

He may not have baffles under the valvecover, and if that hose from valvecover to catch can is running more or less straight down, the catch can oil/air separater has become an oil drain/collector. OP-Does whatever is in the can look like clean motor oil, or does it look like chocolate milk?

The valve covers have baffles in them. They are the motion works valve covers.

The oil in the can is clean. No milk chocolate.
If the oil is clean, then it doesn't sound like it's blowby. Is your oil level correct? I'm looking at the pics, and it doesn't look like anything is wrong, but it's not easy to see in a pic compared to being there. I also know nothing of the MM can. Reason I asked about the valve cover baffles is I have seen this happen when guys remove baffles to clear roller rockers......
Nothing jumping out at me other than the valve covers. Do you have a set of stock ones to swap on?
I'm sure we got your email so be looking for a response to that Monday.
Check the position of that vent fitting relative to the oil hole in the top of the rocker. May also be worth running it with the cover off to see if the head is draining properly.
And also like to know if you got oil on the supercharger side.

I do have a set of stock valve covers That I can put on. The heads are the stock 243s. I had to leave out of town on Sunday for a training mission. Once I get back I will be able to tell you if there is oil on the Supercharger air filter side.
I did not that the Air filter on the CC was not pushed down all the way. Would that matter?
To work correctly, yes, but it would not make what is happening here.
