Default Supercharging

Hi all, thinking of adding a supercharger to my c-5. I live in Erie PA and am hoping to find a shop nearby that can be trusted to do the job right. I am not opposed to a 3 or 4 hun
dred mile trip if needed. Though I must admit to wanting something closer. Any ideas or help is appreciated and thanks

Unless you are physically challenged or inexperienced mechanically, the only hard part of a blower install is keying the crank hub if you decide to. Which you should.

Presuming you pay someone to install it, and perhaps especially so since you may not be one to maintain your car or want to rebuild it, a key factor to consider is whether they will also tune it or not and if they have an impeccable reputation. The tune makes or breaks your build.

Edit: we have an entire forum page on here dedicated to Superchargers, turbos, nitrous, etc.

It's a 300 miles to Frederick, MD but I would highly recommend Rick Kim at http://www.rktperformance.com. Great mechanic with his own shop. He has clients from all over the US including me. You can google: Anybody use Rick Kim - RKT Performance?

There are three types of supercharging, turbos, centrifugal, or positive displacement, each one has its pro's and con's. I went with A&A vortech kit, but I paid a corvette shop to pin the crank pulley, and install an aftermarket clutch, I then installed the kit myself then drove it to a tuner. You will never regret supercharging your C5.
