Just did it at 3am. Has done it a dozen times. Alarm wasny armed or set, car was unlocked. Both fobs new batteries, hanging on a hook away from anyone. Car is on a tender with a new battery also. I may have to pull the horns if it does it again.
Possibly someone in your neighborhood has a remote with a signal similiar to your C5. I had a rental car in Atlanta and every time I locked the vehicle with its remote another vehicle (BMW) alarm would go off. My rental was not a BMW.

I thought possibly that was the case but i called my handful of neighbors this morning and no-one was doing anything last night.
Perhaps you have a bad horn membrane, which is a common C5 Issue, that is sounding the horn and not the alarm system? How are you shutting it off when it goes off???
Mine was the bad horn membrane. But it was stuck ON, not an intermittent honking. It's funny how it always decides to go off in between the hours of 1am and 4am....LOL.

My daughters Mazda6 does this, had to pull the horn fuse, alarm (horn, lights) just goes off randomly day or night, several times a week.
No idea what is causing it
