ill definitely do this to ensure the bearing doesn't do the same thing

There's an understatement! Fascinated by the results. I note your thinking about a bushing instead of a roller bearing -- have to note that all of the 70's and earlier manual chevrolets I've owned had pilot bushings. When I had the clutch done (last year/this year? I've lost track of time) I went with the OE bearing -- but also went with the best known shop in central FL to to the work. So far, so good.

hello all, i have returned. after over a month of ripping things apart and a rebuilt gearbox and tube, i finally finished the car. went for a test drive today and all seems to be well. i do seem to be getting an ABS and traction control light randomly, not sure if this is from the battery being drained for so long. my dash also keeps saying service car soon, even though i just serviced pretty much every part of the whole car. but other than that its working very nicely, i appreciate your help and thank you guys heaps
