Borla Stinger reproduction
I was shopping around for the Borla 140039 Stinger quad oval tips and came across two ads on fleabay, that looked very much like Stinger reproductions for about half the price:
I searched the C5 tech forum but couldn´t seem to find any threads about this.
Did anybody ever buy and install these? How is the fit and sound?

I had a set just like that on my c5. They were called nxt step performance also sold as granatelli. They fit great, sounded great, and performed great. They sound identical to the borla stingers as my buddy ran them on his car. They did not drone at all. My c6 grand sport with just npp mufflers drones, my c5 didn’t and it had longtubes and off-road x pipe. I had them on the car about 4 years and they showed no signs of aging, and the tips were pretty nice too.

The nxt steps look, as you said, similar, I found them in the bay. With 899 shipped they cost about the same as the Borlas at 909.
There is also a product called Maximizer at 665 w/black tubes and four chrome tips.
The Iloveil above from a seller called ajpdistributors cost 495 and I found something very similar from Epartgogo at 494. As the location for both items is La Puente CA, I would assume it is the same seller and the same product.
What keeps me from jumping at the product is the fact that in the ad one of the four oval tips look crooked and I don´t want this on my car or spent hours trying to adjust. But then again, it might only be the marketing pictures and the "production parts" might have been corrected.
FWIW, I too would assume this is Hecho en Mexico or a Chinese product. But then again, what is not theses days?
In terms of drone: the Stingers on my C5 used to drone between 1,500 and 1,800 and the ones on my C6 also do.

According to the Borla website they are made in the USA. I realize it is sometimes difficult to find American made equipment but when possible that is the choice I make. Your money, your choice. I'm still not sure about the Taco Taco portion however. Maybe if you buy their exhaust they buy you lunch? Interesting marketing ploy but rather unusual.

Price has only gone up $75 in 10 years. I think the tips are a lot nicer on this kit vs the one you’re looking at, they probably have the same exact mufflers too.
