Default Lumbar controls

So, i'm finding that there might be a problem with the power seats. I don't find the seat very comfortable. I have zero lower back support. When I use either of the lumbar controls, or the bolster control, I hear a motor (or something) running but I don't feel any movement on the seat at all. Since I hear something running, does that rule out a blown fuse?

If you hear a motor running when you engage the button then its not a fuse issue. Do a search and I believe you'll find other posts on this issue. It may be that the bladder is leaking which is fixable if you're handy to DIY or take it an upholsterer to fix.

Is there a separate bladder for the bolster one?

IIRC there is no bladder for the bolsters, just mechanical motion.

There are 4 bladders per seat, 2 in the lumbar area and 1 each on the bolsters. There are threads on here where people used blood pressure cuffs to replace the bladders.

IMO, the best one is:

Wow. I've seen a few of Lyles videos before. And he sells the parts. Thats why I love this forum. Thanks everyone. Yesterday I only knew about the drivers seat. Today I checked the other seat and nothing works there either.

In my seats they do work but there is very little movement actually translated through the seat foam to my back. It is really easy to undo the clip at the bottom of the back and unzip it so you can inspect the bladders. You might be surprised that they are filling but they just aren't big enough to make much of a difference.

Dave, if you watch Lyle's video's, look for the one with a simple pump fix. It's not always the bladders. The pump vanes can 'freeze' up, and a simple cleaning of the vanes may cure the problem. Check it out. I believe the first thing to check is whether or not the pump is pumping air. You simply remove the plastic tubing at the pump outlet, activate the pump, and see if it is blowing any air. Lyle can take it from there.....
