I’ve got a new AC Delco water pump to install. I planned on using the old thermostat. After pulling the thermostat housing off the old pump I found the new pump sis t have the same Oring groove. So I ordered up a new thermostat. Does this thing need an additional gasket or should the seal, seal everything up?

AC Delco makes two water pumps for the C5. One is listed as GM Original Equipment (251-744) and the other listed as Professional (252-846). Amazon sells them for $100 and $200 respectively.
