I searched the forum but did not find anything to help with my situation. I have a 97 C5 and when I turn the car off, my HVAC system keeps running.? It will only stop when I put the key back in the ignition, or pull the battery cables. Has anybody had this problem?, any insight would be really helpful. I have had the car for about 17 years, always on a battery tender and this just started about 6 months ago.
Yes the blower fan keeps running with the car off and key removed from the ignition. As mentioned, this started about six months ago. I had not started the car for several weeks and it was on a battery tender (which I have used for years during the winter storage). I came out to the garage and heard the blower fan running and the only way to stop was by disconnecting the battery.
I had that happen on my wife's car a few years back (non Corvette). Turned out to be a fan relay that was sticking. She carried a rock in the car and would open the hood and hit the relay with a the rock until I got around to replacing it. If there is a separate fan relay, I would check that.
Thank you for the response. I did some more searching and think it is blower control module.. same symptoms - I found a really old thread and it is exactly the problem I am having. I am going to check this first. Thank you.
