He's got a couple of videos on his youtube. So with Easyguard there are 2 main model types EC 002, and EC 003. The EC 003 is the more basic model, and the EC 002 has more features. If you search, you'll find a ton of different model numbers under each of those two types. The main (but not only) difference in each model # is the type of remote fob that comes with the kit. So, if you're interested in picking one of these up, just take note of the 002 vs 003, and pick the one with the fob you like the best. After talking with chain_5001, I decided to go ahead and purchase this model: http://www.amazon.com/EASYGUARD-EC00...dDbGljaz10cnVl
It is one of the EC 002. Chain_5001 informed me that the cheaper EC 003 system does not work with the remote trunk release function due to the type of pulse required (although this can be fixed with creative electrical work). The EC 002 allows you to program whatever pulse type you need. In addition, the EC 002 allows you to adjust the ignition time. The cheaper EC 003 does not. The ignition timing on the EC 003 might be fine, but I felt that having the option to fine tune it was worth the extra money. The EC 002 does have some things that I don't want (such as the password keypad). However, I can just chose not to install that feature with no issues in functionality. Special thanks to kennasdad for the VATS bypass that I have also ordered. Both of these systems do require a column lock bypass, but since I have an automatic, I don't believe I have a column lock (so I should be okay there) I will certainly update with a full review once I have everything installed and functioning correctly. Thanks again for all the help and feedback.
Any updates? I also have an 02 a4 and about to pull the trigger on this one also and want to know your thoughts. Happy with the remote and all the features? Any problems to worry about?

To be honest, I still haven't installed it yet. After getting it, and really looking at it, I decided that I wanted to have it installed professionally. My normal mechanic said it would take him awhile, and would cost me $1000 to install. He did suggest that I take it to a shop that specializes in alarm and stereo installs. He felt like they could do it for faster and cheaper. However, I've had several other things come up that keep putting this on the back burner. I still think it would be very cool, but those other things have to come first. If/when I do finally get around to installing this, I'll post up a review of what I think. I can say that both the box and components appear to be of pretty good quality. Good luck!

We use contact relays in our relay module. All made by Tyco and Panasonic.
