I am thinking of going with the Stainless Works Headers for my '02 C5. Wanting to get some opinions on whether or not to get them coated. Is it worth the money to do it? I have a mostly stock car, but thinking of going with the magnuson after the first of the year.
I didn't have mine coated, not worth it IMO. Stainless steel will last forever, and always look good. It will reduce under hood heat, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. The headers fit really well, and nothing is really around them that can't take the heat. I dropped $1200 on my 3/8" flange headers, spending another $250 for some coating wasn't going to happen! That's why I got SS in the first place :yesnod:
I think coating is worth it. The underhood temps will be much less with coating than without. We offer Stainless Works headers both ways, as Jet Hot Coating is here in AZ. Its a great header either way and they perform well. We have not had time to add them to our site. Thanks and let us know if we can help with any further questions.
I had mine coated with swaintech and it's amazing. Extremely durable and you can quickly touch your finger on the header when the car is running. Try that with ones that aren't coated :)
