Whoever buys cheap internal engine components from fleabay deserves the inevitable...
I'd never install unknown ebay engine parts. Kinda like beautiful women. They're all nice on the outside, but many have some not so desirable internal qualities!!
I've found some decent parts on ebay and overseas stuff has gotten a lot better, even pros have noticed. Still my plan was to use these in a high mileage meh budget kinda deal and see how they hold up. I've seen too many people cheap out on one part n ruin a good engine(why i shared it) BUT if your entire combo is cheap junk then LOL
I’m not opposed to cheap ebay parts, but lifters is definitely not where I’d be looking to save money. Very interested to see how long they hold up though
Said this many times before, but..
It's not just the off-brand ebay/Amazon stuff to be wary of. 'Name Brand' parts are knocked off every day of the week.
If you're buying parts that have a cheaper offshore counterpart, it's a certainty that some of those find their way into knockoff OE packaging and are being sold as OE.
Finding expensive OE German Audi lifters selling for cheap, but shipping from China. Hmmm. Seemed odd....
There are probably more phony 'Genuine' Bosch parts being sold than real... They're even knocking off ARP fasteners! How many phony parts are being sold by US resellers, but without that alarming discount?
AEM even has a page on their site naming vendors busted selling counterfeit AEM stuff.
Be wary...
Need to be sure of the supply chain on the important stuff.

Its gotten to the point that I don't like to buy big name brand stuff, especially from sources like amazon. Not many michigan motorsports knock offs, but a ton of Bosch.
I got this information from "Roadkill Garage" so take it from where it came from...
Everybody (most auto suppliers including hot rod people) were getting roller lifters from China. Cheap, Fast, Adequate. Life is good.
Then they started to fall apart. Everyone's lifters were falling apart - cheapos, brand names, performance names, you name it. Everyone of them from China.
Now most of the good suppliers are making their own or getting them made for them where they can control product quality. (US or Euro)
They rebuilt an engine that they got cheap because the lifters were no good and then had to rebuild it again because the replacement lifters went bad. Still it was a fun show. While it lasted.
I trust the big name vendors: Summit, Jegs, etc, or order direct. I mostly do Euro stuff, so ECS/Pelican and FCP for that. Autohaus AZ drop ships from Worldpac or SSF, also well trusted wholesalers.
Not sure at all about Rock Auto any more.
Looking for a replacement Bosch wideband O2 sensor. All my trusted vendors were $100+, and their were zillions on ebay/Amazon for < $80. You KNOW those are phony...
Rock was selling theirs at that same $80 price point...

Rock auto I classify as super shady. They buy a lot of closeout stock from random places so you never know what you're going to get. Might be authentic, might be new old stock of a revised part, etc. Plus they are known to be a PITA to deal with if you have an issue. If you want a Bosch for real I'd pay the trusted vendor price.
Thanks for letting everyone know. Some quality guesswork and we can finally put a bow on this thread.
I didn't let anyone know ****! Point is the op should have! If he's going to start a damn threat about something could have at least said why he was sending them back!
