Here's a shot of the rearmost wire on the driver's side. As you can see, the gray boot is pressing on the header. I already ordered Koolsox, but I don't believe even Koolsox can take the heat if it's pressing against the header. The gray boot is very stiff rubber so I can't really zip tie it away from the header. I'm thinking of cutting off 1/2 of it so the red portion underneath can be zip tie out of the way. Is there any harm in doing this?
You can bend that a little, just have to be carefulnot to open up the terminal where the plug goes. There is a spot where it will bend a few degrees on the terminal between where the plug goes and where the wire is attached, kind of hard to explain put you can put a couple degrees of bend there - enough to clear the header. I've done it before with the MSD wires..
How much was it for MSD to make you a custom wire? Any contact phone number? In the meantime I'll just bend it a little more and use a blade to slice off that raised MSD logo. Does the red portion continue underneath the gray boot? I might cut off half the boot.
I called MSD and they made me a wire with a 90 degree bend. VERY nice guys to work with!
I hope they (MSD) realize that most of us buy there wires because we are putting on headers and want bigger wires to protect from heat.
I burned a MSD wire just after putting on headers and since they don't sell individual wires had to buy another set. I got the Koolsox but, as you thought, they can't fully protect the wires soo close to the headers and I burned 2 another.
Since I had to buy 2 sets I had spares...once I burn up all my spare MSD's I guess I'll get some Taylor wires.

Exactly what I was going to recommend doing. I've found that those boots are pretty durable for the most part. My #2 boot got twisted once and melted partially on the primary tube and hasn't failed.
