Just wondering if anyone had ever 3d printed a front LS cover alignment tool? If so does anyone know were I could download an STL file for it? I'm garbage with 3D image software so me designing it is out of the question.
I thought I saw one on Thingiverse too but I can't seem to find it. As far as me making one, Tinkercad is way over my head. I tried Fusion360 too and can't even get started. I was hoping to just find a drop print stl.
I just put the balancer back on before I tighten all the cover bolts.
That's normally what I do too. But I only have one balancer that has the belt spacing I need and it currently is in use on my LS6. I'm building a 6.0l and wanted to get all the covers and oil pan on. I don't plan on putting the balancer on the 6.0l until I pull it off the LS6 and put in on the new motor. So I was hoping I could 3d print the tool instead of buying either a tool or a new balancer.
What I ended up doing was boring out a truck balancer and cutting the outer pulley part off. Basically turning it into a metal alignment tool. Worked like a charm.
