Default 2004 Double Din Install

I apologize if this has been answered more clearly. I’ve been searching through threads all morning. I’m about to install an Alpine head unit. I have the axxess XSVI-2004 that has the 2 red wires. As I’m reading through it seems like what I need to do with those differs for a 2004 c5 vs older years. I think I’ve read so much I’m mixing things up now. Can someone help me clarify?

When I did the stereo on my '04 I followed the instructions to the letter and it has been flawless. Both red wires get attached to the stereo harness red accessory wire.

I installed a Sony head unit and had a bit of a time getting it to dim when the lights came on. In the end the solution was picking up the voltage from the climate control dimming wire (pin 26 or 25 if I remember correctly - its been a few years).

I suspect you're getting things mixed up. The '97-'03 C5s have a pigtail near the passenger fuse box that provides wires for constant power, switched power, and ground. This pigtail is not present in 2004 C5s.

This would be a problem if you were using the PAC ROEM-VET1 interface since it doesn't provide a switched power wire.

The XSVI-2004 you're using provides switched power on both of the red wires. Connect either (or both) red wires to the red/ignition wire of your Alpine HU and you're GTG.

Where does he say he's talking about the power take off in the passenger footwell?
The two red wires go together like the instructions say, these wires are all there already, I just installed a Kenwood with this adapter.
"• Connect the Red wires (qty. 2) to the accessory wire."

Thanks guys. got it figured out so far. Little fitment tweaking and figuring out whey the camera isnt switching on in reverse. I believe this is a deck issue though.
