Default Service Column Lock

I'm getting the service column lock code. If I hit the reset, it goes away until the next time I start the car. Is there a way to clear it all the time or do I need to buy the column lock kit?
Thanks
Dave

Does the steering wheel lock with key removed?

If you already have the Compliance parts LMC5, you may need to do the brown wire mod.

When I put mine on in 2018 people here said do the brown wire mod while installing it, to prevent having to go back to it later, so I did never any issues.

Guess you need to find out if your car has LMC5 first, need to look in passenger side area where feet would go, pull off the panel and look to see if it's there.

The steering wheel never locks. Other owners must have done something. I'll have to look up the brown wire mod.

I was told to make sure my battery was fully charged, take off the terminals and touch them together, leave them off over night and see if that clears it. I did this and it worked. No more Service Column Lock message. I don't know if it will stay away, but I will keep you informed.

I'd have your battery load tested. A failing battery can give you all sorts of gremlins.
