I am the recent first time Corvette owner of a 2004 vert with 21,600 miles. Everything works great EXCEPT ... the passenger side window will not go down. I have tried slamming the door, shaking the door boots on both doors with the switch enabled. I have also tried the "whack" method (removed the small cover under the door handle and hit the rear bolt with a screwdriver while the switch was enabled). Nothing budges. I do hear a faint relay click when I push the window button either from the driver side or passenger side switches.
My understanding is that it could either be the door control module or the window regulator/motor assembly (my bet is on the motor). I'd rather not just throw parts at this for a fix. Is there a fairly simple way to isolate which component is failing? Because I'm hearing a click, does this mean the relays are working (pointing to the motor/regulator as the culprit)?
You can apply 12 volts and a ground directly
to the motor and see what happens...brown wire is your window down with dark blue being ground...power and ground is switched going up !!...this is from my 01 FSM !!
I think you're on the right path in thinking it is the motor. I freed up my motor after removing the door panel and whacking the back of the motor directly while holding down one if the switches. Other "whack" methods didn't work. If that didn't work, I was going to replace the regular assembly.
I now cycle my windows periodically and have not had a repeat issue is 8 years.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks. It's certainly worth a shot after I get the door panel off. Just curious. Since the motor is kind of buried inside the door, how did you get to the back of the motor to whack it?
Try Bill Curlee's 'power connector in the accordion fix'.
It fixed my window problem.

If the power connector in the accordian is faulty, could it only affect the window? The door lock and mirror seem to work perfectly. And I hear what sounds like a faint relay click when I push the button from either the driver side or passenger side control for the passenger window. That said, it seems easy enough to pop out the accordian and pull the wires out to inspect the connector.

UPDATE: So, I installed new lift struts for my trunk lid and convertible tonneau cover. I was demonstrating the tonneau cover lift to my wife after completing the job. For those not familiar with the convertible, when you open the tonneau cover it automatically lowers both windows. To our surprise, the passenger window went down. I realize that changing the struts had no impact on the window functionality and that it was more likely a loose connection or "unjamming" of the motor from repeated door slams. Whatever the reason, the window is now functioning. I already ordered a new Dorman unit and it's on its way. I plan to keep it in case this "miracle" fix is fleeting.
