Over the winter I replaced the entire AC system, compressor, evaporator, condenser.....the whole deal.
It took a bit to reset the actuators, but finally got them right and it was blowing ice cold.
Last night when my granddaughter and I pulled in the garage, I could hear the compressor clutch kicking in and out in rapid fire succession. Cycling about ten times in less than 5 seconds is how fast it was happening. Sounded like clacker ***** clacking.
I immediately hooked up my gauges and the high and low pressures were spot on perfect. Pulled up the HVAC codes and got no codes. The whole time the fan was blowing on high.
Shut everything off, restarted the car, and could get no air to blow at all. Turning the fan on high, and all settings in between, got no air. Meanwhile, the compressor clutch is still going bat crazy.
I'm thinking the HVAC controller has taken a dump and is sending rapid fire on/off signals to the compressor and not allowing the blower to come on.
Anyone have any clues? This is driving me bat chit crazy! Thanks!

It could be the relay, which is in the fusebox under the hood. Can't remember the relay number, but it will be called out on the underside of the lid. If you run a jumper from pins 87 and 30 on this relay, you'll hear, and see (with good eyes!) the compressor clutch engage, as this will bypass all controls, as well as safety sensors! Your light on the climate control should come on, and stay on. I'm assuming you have climate control, and not manual A/C. When 87 and 30 are jumped, the compressor will run until you remove the jumper. So I'd be careful how long you keep it jumped. If the compressor does run, shut it down, remove the jumper, and swap that relay with another like relay, as there are 2 or 3 other identical relays in the fusebox. If the problem is solved by swapping relays, and the A/C now works fine, the problem may move to the circuit the 'good' relay was snatched from. So you now know the relay was toast. If this doesn't fix it, it may be the HVAC controller. Also-Make sure the ambient temps are above 60°-65°, too, or it may be too cold for the A/C to work correctly. Maybe C5Diag or Bill Curlee will chime in, as they both know a LOT about these cars, more than I do, for sure. Best of luck to you......

Funny you replied that. I was just doing that exact thing. Jumping the relay makes the compressor kick on perfectly. Swapping with another relay, and it goes back to doing the same thing it was doing. 😡
Pulled the blower motor and found it doesn't turn as freely as it should. Plugged it in while it was removed and turned the fan on with the HVAC controller. By giving it a little nudge it would run fine, through every selection on the fan control low to high. Put it back in the car and it won't turn at all.
It's really driving me up the wall. Ugh!

Sounds like the control unit, or a bad connection to it. I don't think the compressor cares what the HVAC blower is doing.
After a lot of checking and testing, I finally determined the compressor clutch had taken a dump. How I finally found out was by disconnecting the controller, and by-passing the relay to force the compressor to come on. Same rapid fire clutch on/off.
UPS dropped off the new compressor, and after few hours of cussing, I mean wrenching, all is cool again.
Also had to replace the blower motor since it decided if the compressor clutch was going to lay down on the job, it wasn't going to work either. 😜
