flowmaster makes some good products.....but the ones for the c5 are way below par in my opinion......there is a lot of hygrade stuff out there that blows flowmaster away.......i am running b and b prt's on my c5 and flows on my c4..........check out the sound clips for the different c5's .....if you cant find them email me and i will for you............have a merry christmas....... :yesnod: :yesnod:
I had them on a 98' they were raspy annd rasonated a bit. I bought them used for 300 bucks and liked them a lot. Now I have Stingers and like them more! Flowmaster makes a catback system for C5's. Onne has 4 triangle tips, I heard they now had round tips also..
I had Flowmasters on my vette & I took them off, not because of the loudness (they were loud), but because of the resonance - they drove both my wife & I crazy after about a 1 hour highway drive ...
I have Flowmasters on my C5 and I am happy with the sound. I've found it's always best to hear each exhaust system in person before buying. The resonnance can be an issue for some.
If your car is stock I would buy the Borla Stinger system, a little louder than flowmatser but better quality SS vs. aluminized steel (rusts). The tips also look better IMO. With heads and cam, headers, no cats I would look at a Corsa system.
I had Flowmasters and liked the sound at idle and when I got on it but could not stand the sound they made at high way speeds. The resonance was very bad, I replaced with Corsa Indies and I am very happy.
i have a flowmaster on my camaro and the resonance at cruising speed is worse than having the cut-out open. The cutout stays open all the time now.
After now looking at how a flowmaster works, i dont see how they could improve flow and what so ever, these things have to be just as restrictive as stock. Just look at the design? How can hot gas escape easily? It hits like 3-4 brick walls and is sqeezed through little series of chambers. Flowmaster should be "Soundmaster", because they do have a nice rumble.
