Well I installed my new clutch. This is the first major mechanical work I have ever done. I did all the work myself except I had a friend help me put the tranny back in the car.
It did take me three weeks.
The reason it took so long. I broke an O2 sensor, Clutch Master, 2 Header Bolts, and a rear lower ball joint nut.. Of the three weeks about 2 of them were just waiting on parts I broke. Lessons to be learned:
1. Don't touch the O2 sensor when removing the exhaust
2. Don't pull to hard on the hydralic clutch line. The clutch master is made of plastic and I broke it.
3. Don't use lock-tite on ball joints
Overall it was a great learning experience. I had a fun time.
What caused you to change it in the first place.
Thanks, I’m pretty excited about doing it myself.
The reason I changed it in the first place was it was slipping. The engine doesn’t have any mods it was just time to get a new clutch. I decided to go with the Z06 clutch because I plan on doing some light mods and figured I could use a little extra grabbing power.
