Default No Battery power

Hi everyone I have a 2003. The car starts and runs good. After I drive the car for some time, when I turn it off and try to restart it, there is not any power from the battery. The Battery is find. If I try to jump start it nothing any where. After the car sit for maybe a couple hours, it will start and run as all ways. I do not feel it is a fuseable link, if it was i would need to replace it. It seam like there is some kind of contact that opens up. when it cools down everything is happy. I have not done much checking. I do have a battery disconnect on the ground. Any advice as to what to check would be great. Thank You Big bat I will be off this site most of the day

Really sounds like your starter is at fault, many cases of cars failing to crank over after being driven for awhile. The problem is heat soak which causes the starter to not work, and after a couple of hours of cool down it works again.

Big bat, of the great things about the C5 Corvette, in the event you were not aware, is your ability to read all of your car's diagnostic trouble codes (aka: DTC's) stored in the cars computer.

One of the first things you need to do the next time you get it to start, is to pull the codes. These code will tell you and us much more about the situation you car is experiencing than a couple dozen posts here will. Once you pull the codes, copy them down and post them here. With that information, you will get more meaningful responses and find a solution that much quicker.

There are any number of videos posted on YouTube showing how to perform this procedure, this is just one...

Retreiving & Clearing Codes on a 1997-2004 C5 Corvette

Good luck and let us know what you discover.

If it is something other then a failing starter there will be codes, but if it is the starter there will be no codes.

Thank You everyone That is a nice thing to be able to use the DTC on the 2003 . I have used it before. I used it for this problem, no code. The starter test out fine when hot. I am starting to think the system does not recognize the chip in the key, I am going to us a different key. I had changed the switch some time ago. Next week i hope to take the dash apart. I need to fix the HUD,I miss it. and the screen in the HVAC is not working or it is way way to dim I can not see it. I will put the key recognize sensing circuit on my list. I will let you know what I find. When I go to Manual on the DTC, it says no codes . I will do it again. Thank You Big bat

The chip is really a resistor pellet, and if that's the problem with the no start the security light will be flashing instead of being off. The HVAC display being to dim is caused by resistors that were not soldered correctly on the pcb
Next time the car fails to start verify that the TDR located above the BCM in the passenger footwell area is being energized, you should be able to hear it click, it is the relay that sends power to energize the starter. Hope this helps

I guess your starter solonoid is nearly gone and needs to be replaced .
When you have no start condition your can check if your TDR relay in the passenger footwell above the BCM click . This relay supply 12v to the starter relay .
Also check the connection on your starter terminals .
