Default anyone changed ac compressor with headers?

Has anyone changed the ac compressor that has headers? I shouldve done it when i had the exhaust off. My ac compressor is locked up appears the motor mount and backside of headers is in the way and the rack in pinion blocks it from being removed from the front. Can you just disconnect the coolant/heater lines and raise it up out the side?

yes, you need to remove the water pump and snake the compressor forward then tilt it up over the steering rack. Don't forget to replace your accumulator orifice tube also to get a good fix.

I don't have headers but...
I just did this job. Took this old guy (70) 2 days but all went well. Autozone free loan vacuum pump and guages were questionable so its not charged yet...

BUT, I replaced my water pump because I was having a strange "dry bearing" noise sometimes. WOW, it was real bad, driving down the expressway now
I can hear how much quiter the car is!!
Good luck with the repair,

Hey thanks for the advice whichever works. I'll probably do the water pump removal method isn't anything but gaskets this texas heat kills me midway unless cruising down the highway with the windows down. The guy i had bought it from had just replaced the water pump and thermostat he had said and it does look a bit newer whether or not he sold a car knowing with a new water pump/thermostat knowing it would have to come off with the compressor is questionable. The car had some issues when i got it exhaust leaks at both collectors one fan nut missing and blade just laying. Did manage to get the car home and doctored up. Ill have to get to it sometime i just put 22$ worth of antifreeze in replaced 240$ lower radiator support, thermostat for safety measures and the car was slammed missing the lower air dam for 130$. Thanks Guys
