When my 2003 Corvette gets below 3/4 of a tank of fuel there is a noise coming from the area of the right rear wheel. It sounds like a fluid is being drained. The sound lasts for about one minute. I have no trouble starting the car and it runs fine. There is no fluid underneath the car. I have asked about this at two Chevrolet dealerships but they do not know the source of the noise. Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this sound?

In that area you have the EVAP vent valve (FSM pic) which is located on the inboard side of the right rear frame rail and the EVAP canister which is located behind an access panel in the forward side of the right rear tire area (pictured)…that are the only 2 components located in that area I can think of !!…also when you are filling up your gas tank DON’T overfill it !!…when the gas pump kick off the first time…STOP !!
