Default Do These Dyno Numbers Look Right?

I recently purchased a 99 C5 that has a 98 ls1 in it.

The car made 364 hp on a DynoDynamics with the following.

CAI
Stock TB
Stock Intake Manifold
28lb Injectors
Stock 806 Heads
Tick Dual Springs & Push Rods
Tick Stage 3 cam .630/.610 111+3
Long Tube headers (no cats)
M6 Stock Gears

I added:
Mild ported 243 heads
FAST 92
LS2 TB
36lb Injectors

I got the car tuned at a different shop and made 422hp/364tq on a DynoJet
The tuner said his dyno reads a little low but couldn’t give me a number.

Is something wrong here? Do I need to do a compression/leak down test. These numbers seem low especially for a dynojet.

Thank you for your help.

The second set of hp numbers seems reasonable for the mods you listed.

I mean what were you expecting? That is pretty reasonable for basically a LS6 with FAST, cam, and other additional supporting mods.

I'm actually borderline surprised by that much power. Good results.

Dynos are good for one thing, and one thing only-To extract maximum power out of an engine. You can't race dyno's against each other, and WAY too many people compare their power figures that were recorded on dyno "A", against figures attained on dyno "B". You should get a top notch tune from a top notch tuner, on that one specific dyno. Then make the mods you want, then take your car back to the same shop/dyno. Doing what you're doing will do nothing but have you running in circles, throwing cash out the window. If you visit enough dyno's, you may just hit 500whp with no further mods!!! Just sayin', not trying to be a smar-tass!!

the graph looks good, don't worry so much about the number but how it performs... get out and race it and see what it does

My LS6 with a Torquer V2 (.595/.598 232/234 112) and stock heads made 425rwhp and 397rwtq. Had long tubes and Vararam with a 25% under drive.

My H/C/H work done 12 years ago had dyno numbers like yours. If you want more kick, change rear gears. 3.73 or 3.90 were my choices.

Adding the gear REALLY wakes up the H/C combos - Dyno graph looks good - smooth

W/Grinder..most important thing is the gain before/after and where the power is at.
Youll read about many who are learning and start to believe that something is wrong with their car cause their numbers were lower than some guys on the internet. Or thier tuners no good....dyno sheets and flow numbers can be fluffed and misconstued just run the car.
365 tothe ground will get you in plenty of trouble. Can always gear the car to add some more fun factor.
