I agree with the age issue only if the mileage matches the age . Many of the '20' year old's have less than 50K, been well maintained and yet still have to replace parts that should not have worn out like my HB and my headlight motor did with less than 40K.
I agree, 100%. It seems that I have just fallen into that trap, myself. My 2001, 28,000 mile, garage kept, 1 owner, C-5 has just hit the point where a few electrical gremlins have struck. It looks like I'm experiencing the faulty ignition switch and faulty EBCM issues, all at once.............

Many things are obviously miles related. Nor so obvious are the parts that are age related, or parts that have a shelf life. Many Corvette people also say that the cars that are used daily are the cars that need the fewest repairs. I guess the old adage "everything in moderation" applies here. I'll bet you have a beautiful C5. Red, I hope!!
That is a 370 Z that was trailered to Laguna Seca.. He was faster, but spun out in the rain, so I finished the session ahead of him.
My philosophy is to drive the same car on track that I drive on the street as a daily driver. Car number is my age. 77 after this September.
The tow hook screws into a socket and mount which is bolted to the skid bar mount with longer bolts. The tow hook unscrews for daily driving, decorative wheel centers go back on.

Sorry to disappoint....I've been a "black car guy" for a long time.........

23 yrs car drove it every day no leaks i was carpooling sat for for 8 months. started driving it noticed smoke coming from engine knew it was oil. oil pump gasket started leaking. same with my vet sat for about a yr and a half. never started it. went to start a it wouldn't start dame tac when out wtf. So my car is sitting again because i just had my 8th operation but this time i'm starting it once a week. I let the oil warm up to around 230. Which takes a while. My neighbor hates me. hes about 15ft away from my house. If my windows are shaking i know for a fact his is. Like grinder11 says if your car going to sit awhile start it up at least once a mouth. Or whatever u want.

Despite the naysayers, my C-5, as well a few other cars I've owned over the years, get/got stored for the winter. I'd start them up 3-4 times during the winter, and let them come up to operating temperature, just to circulate the oil, so seals didn't dry up.
