Default Help me pick the right engine

I have a 105K on my engine with a P1SC Procharger. I want to give the drive train a refresh. Should I do a refresh and put forged components in it or install a LS3 and modification to get it into a 99 C5 with auto. I am looking into getting around 600 RWHP safely with no major drive train issues. Pro and cons on each method?

600 is well within the capability of your ls1, there is no reason to change engines imo unless yours is totally shot and can't be fixed

My theory is to put the least amount of stress on parts as is possible. Out of those two I'd go LS3 w/a small cam and just enough boost to make the 600rwhp. (less boost = less IAT heat = less chance of detonation)

A forged setup on your LS1 might be cheaper...but more and more it looks like an LS3 is the better bang for the buck in the long run.

Damn, some people like adding a Corvette tax. The Summit Pro LS Piston and Rod kits are $1500 less than that and by all accounts they are good pieces. For the Summit price, I'd go forged with the LS1 but I wouldn't do it at that LSX Performance Parts price.
