Default BTR dual Valve Spring

I got a BTR stage 2 cam kit. I watched a video on youtube by yellow vet who installed this cam kit t on his 04. BTR dual vale springs he got w/cam kit he had to use vise to have the 9 retainer to seat to inner spring. Others stayed on the inner spring. Apoarantly 9 inner springs diameter is smaller than what the actual diameter suppose to be. He spoke to BTR and told him not to run on dyno because not right can cause catastrophic failure. Btr sent him replacement next day. Replacement valve springs he just have to push down the retainers into inner spring with two fingers and went into the spring and locked in and stayed in the spring. Now I checked my spring and all the retainers go into the inner spring but I didn't have to push it to locked into the spring. The retainers just went in and has free play and moves in all directions. The retainers inner lip diameter is smaller than the inner spring diameter retainer comes out w/o and pressure and falls out the spring. My question is is the retainer suppose to seat to inner spring some what tight where it should not fall off the spring when you turn it upside down and have no free play?
