Good Morning. Coming home from Island Dragway this past Saturday night put the AC on on my 1998 Corvette. AC button on dash blinked a few times then turned off. No AC. Scanned for codes. No codes present. Already checked number 24 10 amp fuse on fuse block under hood. It was fine. Low on Freon? Any ideas? TIA.

First thought would be low Freon however there are other things that can cause this…if it’s low on Freon you probably have a leak somewhere so that should be addressed first !!…is this Island Dragway in Great Meadows, NJ ???

Just go get a bottle of your choice at your local store of the r131a or whatever it’s called feon….hook up the gauge to your low pressure rear most towards the fire wall .. make sure your a/c is on full blast or u will read high pressure so make sure the light for the a/c is on and measure what’s the reading , chances are it’s low due to age and very small seeping from the valve stem you’ll see once u remove the cap look for wetness …just refill with the stop leak stuff …and u should be fine for the next 10 years

My friend is HVAC guy. Brought over tank of R134. We tried to charge the system but while putting Freon in we heard it hissing out below low side fitting. Now we have to put it up on lift to find leak or crack in line below headers.
