Default Charge system fault

I have a 99 frc with 120k on it. Last spring I had my alternator go bad (~12 volts running, lights dimming when the turn signals are on) had it rebuilt at a local place who seemed like he knew what he was doing.

Then last August my battery went out, replaced it with an optima yellow top (I wanted the dual posts for my stereo)

I saw the fault occasionally last year, but now it's almost always coming on when I drive, flashing on and off repeatedly. Looking at the dic voltage whole driving, it's almost always above 14. I pulled the codes and I had a 1637H and 1638 H,

Any recommendations on what to look for now?

I'm reposting someone else's thoughts that worked for them:

Hello c5 enthusiasts..... I had similar code...together with charging system fault. First check your terminals n clean, at alternator..if alternator checks okay....then move on to cleaning the grounds on both sides by Fender's. Then take your battery out, n clean the ground plug on the harness.. You'll see it, these groundling plugs cause a lot of issues to various components. Then lastly check your starter connections. The bigger red battery cable sometimes... Break's at the starter solenoid connection. Due to over torque. Also check all wires as well. You van also buy ground spice connecters, 5per pack..recommend to change all three in engine bay. Eleckers corvette sells them 39.00 . .....hope this helps, this fixed my issue's.

I'd personally start with getting your battery load tested. If good, consider checking connections next. Start simple and work towards more complex.

Had the battery load tested and it checked fine, they claimed 996 CCA out of 800

It's been too damn hot to get under the car and look at the starter, but I've got a new problem
The headlights will not go down if the car is off. When the car is on, they go up and down fine (rebuilt with brass gears last year) but when the car is off they only go upFor added confusion, I when I took the battery out the headlights were up, so I manually wound them back down before closing the hood, but when I hooked the battery back up they popped up (but wouldn't go down)

Update:
starter wires were pretty corroded, especially the small 8mm one. I ended up replacing the starter because I was already all the way in there and it did not fix the issue. I still have an almost constant charge system fault
I'm thinking I'm going to have to take the alt back to the guy who rebuilt it and ask him to take another look at it

I had that message show up consistently on cold starts. Battery tested fine, but since putting in a new battery, I haven't seen it come back again.
