I have a 2002 Z06 with the stock ls6 engine, and I have a new issue developing.
When I turn my a/c on the air will blow cold, but a very audible click will start occuring underneath the hood. This clicking gets louder as engine RPMs increase.
This is a fairly new issue, is the clutch on the compressor failing? Or is the issue more serious.
If it is just the compressor clutch failing, how difficult is it to replace?
First I would verify that it is the clutch coil is what’s clicking…you may need 2 people to do this…the AC clutch relay may be failing so swap relay 34 with the horn relay…you may have power or ground issues going to the clutch so I’d check that…the ground is at pin K at SP100 which is the one behind the right headlight bucket…if you have a jumper wire you can activate the coil by jumping the 2 terminals circled in white on the relay…pins 87 and 30…key must be ON !!
