Default BCM for 2000 Corvette

Hello all,

I am looking for a BCM GM part number 10304930. GM has discontinued the item and other websites for car parts also indicating the part is unavailable even as a rebuilt module. Does anyone know a good place where I might find a rebuilt module or who rebuilds them. I found a company called Module Experts and will contact them for a quote. This forum has been very helpful for Corvette information.

Thanks,
Miramar

Recently helped someone here on the forum, he sent his BCM to a rebuilder in upstate NY called G7 Computers.

[QUOTE=SweenyRod;1603967025]What junk yards have you hit?[/QUOTE)

The dealer mentioned that BCM's that have been progammed for a car are challenging to work with and better to get a rebuilt or new unit. Thanks for your response.

Thank you for that information. I'll give them a call. I did talk to a company called Module Experts. They rebuild the module for $199. The BCM will be plug and play with no programming required. He said the generally complete the service within 2 to 4 days after they receive it. Thank you for your reply.

I don't know if you send your cars BCM to be rebuilt that you can simply plug it back in. I do know if you buy a rebuilt or new one that you will have to perform a relearn procedure, and have the factory installed options programed by someone with a Tec Ii scanner.

Yes I have noticed on RockAuto they sell the ones that require progamming and a Cardone model that says plug and play. Although the Cardone does has some text that says it needs programming, Both Module Experts and G7 say theirs are plug and play. Anyway, I will take the car to the dealer and let them do the replacement. The service advisor said if it needs programming, it doesn't take long to do.

Put your new bcm in and do the re-learn your self. The only thing the dealer needs to do is add the options like F45/F55 suspension and TPMS if your care came with those options

That is a great idea. I thought I would use the dealer (they are a small town dealer and seemingly very fair) in the event there is a problem and the car won't start. The dealer is about 45 minutes away so it would need towing, I am also having an issue with the IPC. The chimes are intemittent and a ready rebuilt is $775. Sumitt Racing offer an outside vendor service for $499 but could be higher depending on what parts need to be replaced. So it might be better to get the rebuilt for $775 although that seems expensive and even the dealer said it was expensive. I like the fact the dealer has no issue with customer supplied parts especially in this case. My car is in great shape with 78,000 miles but it is 21 years old (a 2000 coupe), so not surprised a few things need attention. I believe I'm the third owner and bought it from a friend who was very meticulous with servicing.

Glad you've found a source for the BCM. I also have a 2000 model, an A4 vert. I believe GM discontinued the C5 BCM a long time ago. There may be some NOS (new old stock) BCMs somewhere in some dealers parts department, but it's highly unlikely.
