Default Any experience or thoughts with these electrical issues?

Hey guys, I have an ‘02 hatchback with the following electrical related items. Had a mechanic look at them but he didn’t seem to offer much help or suggestions. Not sure if any of these are common issues and/or worth fixing? Thanks in advance!

1) driver door won’t lock with the fob. It sounds like the doors are locking when you use to lock button, however you can still open the driver door and the alarm goes off.

2) when I start the car I get a “charge fault” error on the dash.

3) driver power seat won’t work...at one point was draining the battery so he unplugged the fuse. I assume the entire power seat mechanism could be replaced, not sure if that’s expensive or not.

thanks so much guys!

Does the door lock if you use the electric lock button or the manual lock on the door? If no, something mechanical has come apart inside the door.

The System Charge Fault could be due to a failing battery. Have the battery load tested. AutoZone does it for free. Battery age doesn't matter. A battery can fail at any age.

The seat issue could be any number of items. I'd investigate to see if one of the functions is stuck. Move the seat to various positions and see if it stays there. Also listen for the lumbar pump if you have sport seats.

The system charge fault could also be caused by installing an alternator not specific to the C5. New alternator recently?

The C5 seat switch assembly is known for failing and causing battery drain. $150 part, available from multiple outlets.
