Default Washer Fluid Squirt

So this one has been happening to me lately. I can't figure it out. When I do a hard 1st to 2nd gear pull, right near redline washer fluid squirts up on the cowl and windshield. It's like my car is peeing itself.. kind of embarrassing and ruins a fresh carwash. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Dainon

If you have the original tank cap on it make sure the little hole in the middle on the top isn’t plugged up. If you have an aftermarket cap and have an O-ring on it, take the O-ring off. Your tank is getting pressurized basically and the pressure follows the path of least resistance.

That’s my guess anyway, it happened to me with my new cap.

Happened to me on several of the C5s I owned. I found that by not filling the reservoir completely full it would keep the fluid from squirting on the windshield during hard acceleration.

And moved to C5 Tech.

Wow, have not had this happen but will add this to the continuing growing list of fixes (GM screw-ups) in the C5 design.

The hole in the top of the cap isn't plugged, but is so small it whistles when I push on it. One thing I noticed is, there is blue residue and water stains all over the cap like washer fluid is coming up through the hole and evaporating on top. The reservoir was quite full, as anywhere I take it in the guys like to top it off. I sucked out about 1/4 of it. (I never use the washer fluid anyway, never drive in the rain or when dirty). After taking fluid out, I ran it pretty hard on Saturday and it didn't do it. Even when a Tesla Model S lined me up at a light. Yeah, embarrassing.. now what to do about that? A&A or LS3 crate?

In any case, your idea about pressurized tank is how I am leaning. Either I will tap the hole a size bigger, or just ask guys not to fill it. Thanks for the response.
