Looks like most people are going with super strokers of 415, 422, 427, 436 etc... How many of you are doing just the 4" stroke without boring and resleving? It would seem to me that this would be the most long term "durable" way to make great power. If you are running a 383 then...
The 383 kit still requires some prep work on the block and if youre going to spend that kind of time and labor you may as well go bigger, it is also all stroke and you will see some hp but it will give a significant increase in torque.

Little amount of prep but not much, but nothing like releeving the block. Also if I bore then I need to have my heads worked on again. I should be able to use these heads with an all stroke. Looking for around 480rwhp and 480rwtq out of this combo...can it be done?
Boweryboy, what is the cost for a setup like yours? I assume that you are all stroked?
I have been trying to compare the cost for Head/Cam, Supercharger, Stroker.
Also, would you say that a stroked engine is more reliable than all bore?
Mine is all stroke with a stock block. I did mine in stages but I believe it could be done for around $12-14k? You would have to ask the Vette Doctors for a specific cost.
My best 1/4 numbers all were in rather bad air (DA 1500+).
I agree with the head situation but I building big valve heads anyway with my blower, but one thing leads to another and since I'm getting forged internals I thought about the 383 as well since it would not cost much more to add the inches and you could use the same heads.
