You can get rid of it, it is not needed. It's an indicator to show if your air filter is restricted.

Yep, pretty much what I did. I used an awl to make the hole. Pretty easy.

There is already a thread in this in C5 Tech.

Merged the two.

I thought I just posted a response to this, but it evaporated.

Although the filter monitor is not needed I would just add the additional hole with a hole saw or Forstner bit. Especially if you ever decide to go FI or upgrade to a Vararam, and want to sell the Blackwing.

I have a Blackwing with the air hole and elbow (which I capped with a rubber cap) because I removed the air tube from my car. Depending on where you are (if local to NJ) I would trade you the one I have for the one you need. I don't really need either (I am FI now plus I have a Vararam if I go back to NA).

I just sent you a private message with info you may find helpful during the install.

My blackwing had the filter reset AND the AIR hookup, which I capped off like you did, for same reasons you did......

Grinder11, this made me chuckle. In the last two posts you and I are two for two with similar experiences.

As long time owners of C5's I'm willing to bet we could go 10 for 10 just by the end of this week!

Pic from when it was in my car. Zoom to see MAF.

The MAF was connected by a coupler on both sides. One to the Vortex Power Duct airbridge and the other to the Blackwing. You'll see location of capped air tub elbow just to left of the filter monitor.
