Electric winding sound when key is pulled out
I have a "99" coupe.
Every time the key is pulled it makes a quick kind of electric winding sound from the cluster area.
Like maybe the security system setting itself? What is the sound? I ask because it was normal every time.
Now it doesn't do it any more.

It's never done it putting the key in.
The steering lock has been done long ago.
It no longer locks at all.
The only change I've noticed is my Fob blows the horn when I lock the car. I disabled the horn in menu awhile back.

Depends what you mean by "steering lock has been done". One version of done is removing the part that locks while leaving the thing that moves the lock still intact so it still voops on and off.
If you lost your settings, maybe you had a low voltage situation recently?

I did change the battery. But it still made the sound for about a month after that was done. Now no sound pulling the key
What I meant by steering lock has been done. I don't know the method it was fixed, I just know the steering wheel does not lock under any circumstances.
