2001 C5, A couple quirks.....
Hello, I'm new here and have a few questions. I recently acquired a low mileage C5 Corvette, and I have already found a couple of pesky issues that I'd like to see if they are common and what might be a fix.
#1. The passenger's seat has about 1/2 inch of play in it. What I mean, is that it slides forward, (when braking and stopping), and backward, (when taking off from a full stop), on it's rails.
#2. The climate control display lighting is Very dim. Pretty much invisible during the day...
#3. The former owner installed an aftermarket stereo/GPS/back up camera, and I don't like it. Replacements are available on eBay and such, but I've heard that they have to be reprogramed, or unlocked, How difficult is this to accomplish?
I am a pretty good shade tree mechanic, and I'm not afraid to tackle a job or two.

1 Research here, look up rocking seat fix. Several vendors sell repair kits to fix. There are some youtube videos on fixing this too.
2. Another common problem again search here. The fix is re-solder loose connections on the circuit boards. of the control panel.
3. IIRC the radios aren’t locked from the factory, and locking could be done on-board could be done by the owner. Few did, though. At any rate, I suggest you call VettePros in Charlotte, for a radio, or VetteNuts. Dino’s or other Corvette salvage outfits to find an OEM radio that will be plug and play no issues. That is provided the previous owner didn’t cut a bunch of wires for the aftermarket install.
