Default Swapping a 411 ECM into a 1997 Corvette

Does anyone have a diagram of the wiring pins for this swap that can post them here? I have the Factory pin pictures but I am confused since it appears the red and blue connectors are reversed between the two ECMs. I don't want to screw anything up. Thank you.

Good morning, I don't have a diagram but I do have the pin conversion chart. I'll try to attach it and get you a copy. I also have a 97 that I'm going to upgrade to the 0411 ECM. Try this it's not mine but I got this from another forum member. Mr. Black he also has a 97 that he has changed over to the 0411 ECM and he's up and running great, first time.

Good luck Harold

Thank you. I have the pin out printout like the one you sent but as I read other posts there are exceptions to some of the wires and locations that don't match up. This is what concerns me as I don't want to screw something up. Someone makes and has a simple pinout diagram showing an easy way to do this that also has the unused wires and ones that you leave disconnected so that everything works. There is supposed to be an issue with getting the fuel gauge to operate also that I want to know about. The red and blue connectors also are reversed between the 1997 and 2003 ECMs that adds to the confusion. Thank you. I am going to proceed with the project and stop when I get stumped. My 1997 ECM is totally inop and all the power and grounds are good. I sent it off to a repair center and they said it cannot be rebuilt and here is not another ECM anywhere to be found.is the reason I am doing this. The car has less than 50,000 miles on it.

The only exceptions I know of are if it's an auto or manual car. I also have some other documentation I attach the pictures. Yes the connectors are reversed, but that is not an issue. On the fuel gauge issue that is something that needs to be re scaled in the programming of the 0411 ECU.That I'm not sure of. I have HP tuners and I haven't figured out how to do it with HP Tuners.

You will need to rescale the fuel gauge info from the 97 ECM to the 411 ECM. If you go to HP TUNERS Repository, you can download a 02 corvette tune file and compare it to your 97 ECM. Under the "Fuel System" tab you will need to move your 97 setting over to the 411 ECM. the tables are a bit longer in the 411 ECM, so you will have to interpolate between values for the primary and secondary volume tables.

Also, take a look at this thread https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...sion-help.html especially post 7. It has a couple of links with the top link having important info about the swap on its post 10.

I wired and installed the 411 ECM from a salvage yard and the car now starts and runs. It however will not rev much above an idle speed. The ECM is from I believe a 2001 Tahoe so the original installed programming is not working with the 1997 electronics. Now, a person that is supposed to know says you cannot install 1997 programming into a 2001 ECM. If this is true then I have obtained a VIN of a 2001 Corvette with the same transmission that we are going to attempt to install into the 1997. Hope this works. Thanks for everyone's help. I'm in a small town and there are no tuners around locally that can help so I am in the boat alone.

You need a tune file from a corvette with the same trans. M6 or A4.
01-03 works well. 04 won’t work.

Write entire with HP Tuners.
You won’t be able to add your VIN. But if no emissions testing, won’t be an issue.

You are going to need tune work. The reason you cant throttle up is the vehicle it came from is drive-by-cable, your vette is drive-by-wire. So you will not get past idle until tuning is done.

OK, we installed the 2001 Corvette programming into the 97 and now the engine runs fine and revs properly. All gauges seem to be operating OK. Have a CEL on with the fuel tank pressure switch showing which will have to be edited out by someone in the future. Don't know if the transmission will shift properly since the car won't go over 2mph before shutting off due to a column lock issue. I am going to tackle that issue tomorrow. Two steps forward and one step back. LOL. Does anyone know how the BCM shuts off the fuel with a column lock problem? Is it injector power or fuel pump relay, or other method? All the manuals say is that fuel is shut off. That doesn't tell you a lot.
