So I got a black wing intake I put it on and now the car does something weird like cuts power when driving above 2,000 rpm and about 10 minutes after I drive a couple miles service traction’s system comes on comes on then it drives fine (I just installed longtubes and went straight pipe )maybe that effects it maybe a i need a tune bad filter,? Messed up maf sensor
There are no codes it just says service traction system after driving around for 10 min after that it runs fine I turn car off traction is fine and does the same thin g for 10 min then service traction comes on the. It runs fine maybe traction is makin git mess up or messed up maf

Surprised there's no codes!! On board diagnostics checked, or scan tool checked?
When the car loses power like that pull over and scan for codes through the DIC...you may see a C1276, P1644 or P1689 or P1277..the PCM is seeing the rear wheels lose traction or not seeing the right signal from the EBCM to the PCM (requested and delivered torque signal which can be seen with a better scan tool) and it retards the spark timing and starts cutting off injectors...you can even try turning off TC and see what happens !!…that's maybe why you are losing power...it may be a MAF sensor but a scan tool will confirm this looking at your fuel trims but your TCS light should not come on...I'd also be looking at your O2 sensors with those LT headers...also please fill out your profile...model year, mods, tune, and location if you want to...you may be in the next town over from me...this helps us help you !!…below is delivered vs requested torque at idle…you should see around 90% duty cycle when TC not active and delivered between 10-90% duty cycle lower at idle and higher when driving !!
My dic buttons don’t work and it was running fine perfectly fine till I put this intake filter on then like I said cuts power above 2,000 rpm then when the service traction comes on it work perfectly fine I can use my scanner to pull codes out I doubt there is any codes because all I did was switch out a filter I was going to try and get the traction and abs completely disabled by pulling a fuse or some sensors to shut it off to see if that’s the problem and I’m going to clean my maf sensor it starts fine and idles normal

When I initially installed my Blackwing I did not have any issues but if you have a scan tool see what your fuel trims look at idle then at higher RPM’s…if long terms are elevated at idle (above 10%) but decrease at higher RPM after a bit you have a vacuum leak (the rubber bellows on your intake may not be installed securely causing a vacuum leak)…if they are normal at idle but increase at higher RPM you have either a MAF or fuel delivery issue…usually with a dirty MAF you will have negative fuel trims at idle and go positive at higher RPM’s !!…you can just turn the traction control off by pushing the active handling button…no need to pull fuses !!
If your long terms are elevated but return to normal when the RPM’s are increased the car will run better when the fuel trims get close to zero…car runs crappy at lower RPM but better at higher RPM….if it runs better at all times low and higher RPM that may require further diagnosis…there is no one magic bullet for what you have !!
I don’t understand anything you say it shouldn’t be that complicated o just installed a filter that’s all then it started acting weird runs fine after awhile

Alright I was just saying you making it sound complicated not everyone has the knowledge like you old heads was just wondering only had the car for about a month

YES, diagnosing cars is complicated where you can nail it down to one bad part and you don’t learn this stuff by changing parts unfortunately !!…I told you what to look at with your scan tool…maybe it’s best to take your car to a diagnostic shop and pay maybe $200-$300 for diagnostic time and if it’s a part you can change and you’re mechanically inclined you can change that part and be done with it…good luck !!
But the thing is why would the part all of the sudden go bad after just installing a simple filter?
A lot of your thoughts are directed at the Blackwing install, which may, or may NOT, be related. It could be coincidental. My guess is it's coincidental. If everyone who bought a Blackwing had these issues, the Blackwing filter would no longer be available for sale, because word gets around quickly when a product screws up your car!! I also have a Blackwing, and even though there may be better products on the market now, Ive never had any problems with its install,, or the product itself. I'm having a hard time believing this problem is totally, or even partially related to an air filter change. Could it be you've damaged the MAF/throttlebody wiring? Hard to diagnose online. Rob (C5diag) knows his stuff. I wish you the best solving this problem. As Rob suggested, why not reinstall your OEM filter, and see if the problem disappears?
