C5 headlight problem
I have replaced the drivers headlight motor on my C5 but when I turn on the headlight switch the headlight goes up and down many times before it finally stops. Can someone tell me what actually turns the electric motor off when it goes up or down? The passenger light operates normally. I did check the mechanical stops and bumpers and they look ok. I'm thinking that what ever turns the motor on and off may be the problem. Thanks for any info.

There is a headlight control module on the passenger side under the light. Accessed through the bottom (remove the panel under the bumper to see it). I've read people had issues with those modules going bad/getting wet.

I believe the motor runs until it stalls due to resistance hitting a bump stop, the control module mentioned above is sending open and close signals strangely.
If both headlights are behaving erratically then it could even be a stalk issue.

Mmmm good point. Yeah I would agree - a stalk issue would probably manifest itself as both lights being weird.
