I just got a Harlan shift light and I was wondering where everyone installed theirs. I was thinking up in the top corner of the pillar for the windshield, it is out of the way of anything and in my sight. If anyone has any pics of where they installed it that would be helpful and how hard was it to install?

As I am planning on installing 4.10 gears, have been thinking about a shift light. Would like to see what others have done. Appreciate the help and thanks.

Re: Where did you mount your shift light??? (see5)
Installing it in the air vent rings my bell. Who has done it and are there any instructions for doing it? A list of things to do and avoid, in text form, would be most appreciated. Thanks guys.

I just received my Raptor Shift Light and was wondering the same thing. A forum buddy has the Harlan Shift Light and asked me to design and make a mounting bracket similar to the Raptor's since there was nothing similar available. I checked out pics of No Mercy's Raptor install and designed something similar that could handle the larger 1" diameter Harlan light (the Raptor is about 11/16") then made a few copies of the bracket. The custom bracket worked out well.
But now that I have my Raptor, I'm not sure where I should mount mine and whether I should design a special bracket for it as well or not. I like the A/C vent mount but not sure if it'll be visible enough with the smaller Raptor. The A-pillar's OK but looks better when it's mounted with gauges.
Re: Where did you mount your shift light??? (Patches)
I don't think it looks too bad without the gauges. If you still don't like it after mounting it, add n02 and a super charger. You'll have all the guages you want. :D :steering:

Tom or anyone have any instructions on how to mount it in the center vent....that looks really cool.....if it's only a 2 hour job, I am up for it.....details please.....

I always thought that a shift light in the hud would look really slick. Something that would reflect off the windshield. I wish Gm had at least made the shift word red on the HUD. I know that would be difficult and expensive, but it would be very cool.
