Just want to second this phenomena. If I turn traction control off and/or comp mode it will reduce the throttle sensitivity. I meant to ask my tuner about it as well.

The only differences I've ever seen in the tune for regular/comp mode was the throttle mapping. Timing has a high/low table (for knock/octane), just like the trucks, but nothing for comp mode to make it different. Automatic cars may have a different shifting pattern, but who care about those?
Agree with above. The only change is throttle mapping in normal vs Comp/TC off. It is more linear in Comp mode or TC off.
It just simply "feels" slower in comp mode. I appreciate the throttle being less sensitive to give you more part throttle control in Comp mode. But yes you can make the two sets of tables match.
Interesting thread.
Does anyone have any screen shots from HPT Editor to point us to where any of this may be triggered by each mode (off, competition driving. Active Handling) or where the throttle control and timing being pulled is.
I am going to do some exploring as I have never specifically searched for this - but if you can post something up it would be very interesting for this thread and helpful.
Also, it goes without saying there are likely some differences depending on what year your C5 is.
The 01 and later have the dual throttle tables. The 99 and 2000 do also, but the Alternate table is populated with 0's.
I've attached some screen shots.
2000
2001
What I don't know yet is where or how this is communicated to the ECU.
I do know that when I put a 2001 tune file into my 2000, the engine runs fine, starts right up, but the gas pedal is dead.
So working on figuring this out.
Timing tables are here.
This looks a little different on a 2001 file.
Not sure if this helps, but it is interesting.

Do 2000 and 2001 use the same PCM? If so and the OS is different, are you performing a full flash or a cal only flash? That's a thing on EFILive, not sure about HPT.
