Need some advise on head and cam packages. Which one to go with. I have a pretty much stock ,02 C5. Not wanting to get real crazy though. I would like to get around 400 rwhp with the H/C and headers and exhaust, any advise?
The Vettedoctors have a great cam only setup that put down 385 RWHP thru stock cats in "Redgars" A4. His car ran back to back 11.6s @115 MPH with 3.42 gears. If you have an M6 you should be right at 400 RWHP with this setup.

Call Dave @ Cartek, I had one of the first H/C A4's (that means very old design porting on the heads) and still got 392 rwhp with 3.42's going thru the factory cats and Flowmasters. This combo netted consistent and numerous 11.7's @ 118 mph, and total streetability & an emissions legal car. The newer parts are even better !
You have many many options. As John said above, if your goal is 400 rwhp you should be able to do it with a cam, headers, exhaust, filter and maybe LS6 intake and custom tuning to gel all the parts together.
Mitch made reference to my package and that is basically what I have except I have not done the LS6 intake and have an A4 with a 3500 stall converter and 3.42 rear.
There are many parts dealers that will sell you the parts and if you are doing the work yourself. And there are many Tuners here that can do the work and help select parts with you. I cannot recall any tuner in GA though.
Take your time in making the decision becasue it is expensive and you may not want to change your mind right after completing the work. Visit some forum members locally if you can to get a feel for what different packages sound like and behave like as a head and cam car is not quite stock anymore.
Browse around the forum here as this topic comes up a lot. Visit the web sites of the tuners and parts dealers on left hand side of the forum here and get a feel for what is involved.
