This code I've been told is generated by insufficient input from right rear O2 sensor. Since I'm running the FLP/ORP's with O2 sims, where would you start your trouble shooting? My ideas: 1. re-seat the O2 sims connectors. 2. Switch the O2 sims left / right and recheck for codes.
Does the right rear wiring end up on the passenger side of the engine as a rule? I know I can trace it from the O2 sesor but just thought I'd ask.
Hi Mark,
P0160 is set when the HO2S do not come off the bias voltage for 145 seconds. Basically the PCM is checking for changes in heated oxygen sensor output voltage to confirm they are working. I don't know much about the functioning of the sims, but my guess would be you have a non-functioning O2 sim.
Yes, the wiring to the rear HO2S's crosses over and connects to the connector opposite the side the sensor is installed in.
I will email you the service manual page on this code.
Did you resolve this yet, if so, what did you find?
Mine threw the same code on my way to work this morning, P0160. It is still current, and I can't clear or reset it. I'm running the cats w/ my FLP's, but I do have 02 sims. (FLP says they install em on all cars they do).
No I haven't resolved it yet due to the weather here in MA. I assume its a bad O2 sim. So I switched the O2 sims left to right. I have been waiting for the roads to clear up to test drive it to see if now the code would be from the other bank. I was able to delete all codes. Keep us posted on what you find out! Thanks. :chevy
