Default 97 EBCM question

Guys,

I know all about the early year EBCMs and such, but I would like to clarify that a rear mounted untit from 97 and early 98 will fit the 99 and 2000s without issue. I try to line up the part numbers and it seems they quite confusing... So basic questions outside of part number.....

Model M..
1)Aside from the EBCM mounts (one rear, one front) are the brake fittings any different size wise?
2) Are all EBCM control modules from 97 to 2000 exactly the same? Again, I am only asking about Model M....

Reason I am trying to confirm is that I have a 99 and may buy an EBCM from a 97........

Thanks, Tony

I been change front mount EBCM to -97. EBCM is same so its work fine. If remember correct, i change one brake line fitting. But you can take that from your old EBCM.

There was a hardware issue with the original 97 EBCM. Under certain performance situations, the system would fail and permit brake lock up. This failure only showed up on cars that were being autocrossed or used at the track so not all cars received a revised EBCM since you didn't get one if you didn't complain. GM got revised parts into the field by Dec. 98. My 97 that was delivered in May of 97 received one of the first updated modules.
