Default climate control lighting issue

I know that this one is old hat around here, but my climate control module doesn't light up like it should. A quick search yielded plenty of YouTube fixes, okay, easy enough. But after removing the module from the car and checking the resistor contacts, this repair has been attempted before. Anyhow, I resoldered the contact points and here's to hoping it works, I have yet to reinstall it. Is there other reasons this fix fails? any other suggestions?

Does it work, other than dim display? When mine rolled over and died, the unit still worked, and I could just make out what it was indicating when I looked at in the dark. Several places out there that do a repair, including at least one the realizes your unit may have been worked on before (and that there could be consequences from that):

Is the problem that the display is dim/dead or the button backlights are dead? If the resistors are soldered down properly it should work...

Hi know this is a bit dated but has anyone ever used the Automotive Circuit Solutions. I could use their services. My climate control module is shot.
Thanks,
