It would cause the over-run clutches to always be locked in 1-2-3 when shifter is in 3rd and this gives engine braking. It would still work the same in OD, where there is no engine braking unless in OD. It stops it from coasting when off the gas and then hitting the sprag and driving again when you get on the gas.
To be honest I think I understand most of what you are stating. I am not a trans guy, I'm a motor guy, lol. So some of the terms you are using are like Pashtu to me. I do understand some Pashtu, I was in AFG for a tour.
Does the Sonnax HD 2-3 shift valve prevent automatic downshift from 3-2 at WOT coming out of a turn? That would be a plus in my opinion.
It does sound like the HD 2-3 shift valve causes or allows more engine braking when manually downshifting from 3-2 coming into a turn, if so more caution would be required than I am used to to prevent training throttle oversteer--true?
