Default LS1 motor

My friend just picked up an LS1 motor with super low miles, it came out of a 2001 camero. Motor is complete except for intake. He wants to build a new motor for his 2001 vette. My question is, other than the cam, oil pan, and bottom pully is there anything else different? His plan is to totally rebuild the motor, new everything except maybe crank? Is there any reason this shouldn't just be a bolt back in place motor when finished?

I believe you are correct in your assessment, but I'm not an expert. Anyone else want to chime in?

Well one obvious difference is he will have to change out the mechanical throttle to electronic on the C5.

If the motor has super low miles....why totaly rebuild? Disasembly to inspect, but these motors go and go and go. You are correct with the rest.

Reason to totally rebuild is because this motor was making a noise, and GM warrantied the motor and put in a new one, no one has checked to find where the noise was coming from. After this weekend we will find out what was wrong. We just wanted to know if there were any other major differaces.
